Low Carbon Beef is a USDA Process Verified Program (PVP) service provider that certifies beef produced with reduced greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions as compared to standard industry practices.

We work with family farms, cattle ranches, feed yards, and beef packers to quantify GHG emissions from beef production using lifecycle assessment.

Unlike many products on the market that evaluate only one source of GHG emissions, our certification is based on the net total GHG emissions for the entire lifecycle of specific certified animals. 

Scoring is determined by data we collect from cattle’s entire life span, from birth to harvesting, to ensure they meet the standards required for Low Carbon Beef certification. Low Carbon Beef LLC serves as the verification body, conducting the necessary record keeping, annual on-site verifications, and compliance to ensure the product meets the requirements of our process.

Data sharing declaration: The data that Low Carbon Beef LLC gathers for a customer's cattle are used internally and will not be shared with anyone except the USDA unless we are legally required to share it.
